I’ve already shared my 5 favorite places to hike in Kansas City, but that leaves a hefty chunk of Kansas City’s parks out of the mix. Here are a few of my favorite places to play in KC:

Loose Park

  • Location: Country Club Plaza
  • Ideal for: Playing frisbee, reading
  • Don’t miss: The Rose Garden

Berkley Riverfront Park

  • Location: River Market
  • Ideal for: Walks and playing
  • Don’t miss: The concerts and festivals hosted here

Kauffman Memorial Garden

  • Location: Nelson-Atkins
  • Ideal for: Reading, journaling, meditating

English Landing Park

  • Location: Parkville
  • Ideal for: Kids, exploring

Penn Valley Park

  • Location: Midtown
  • Ideal for: Exploring and skateboarding 🙂
  • Don’t miss: The Scout statue

Mill Creek Park

  • Location: Country Club Plaza
  • Ideal for: Walking, playing, and people watching
  • Don’t miss: The J.C. Nichols Memorial Fountain

Trolley Track Trail

  • Location: Brookside, Waldo
  • Ideal for: Easy biking, running and walking
  • Don’t miss: Family Bicycles – a great place to learn more about cycling
  • Note: I know… it’s not really a park, but it’s awesome!
