This Artistic B&B in Eureka Springs is Cozy and Relaxing
I’m a big fan of Eureka Springs, Arkansas (you’ll love it too – check out my post for the scoop) and The Belladonna Cottage, located just minutes from downtown, is a real find. It’s tucked away so deep that the owner, Patti, has you call when you get into town and directs you step-by-step (“see that pink shed, yep that’s it, turn right”). The cottage is split into two private levels – you can choose the street level or the garden level (the garden level is sa-weet!).
Set against a picturesque forest backdrop, the first thing you notice is the striking beauty of nature – huge, old trees, countless bamboo shoots and native plants. As you walk down the curvy stone path to the entrance you are greeted by unique yard art, cozy seating areas and an inviting fire pit. The garden-level features a simple patio complete with (wait for it….) an outdoor bathtub (’nuff said).
The inside of the cottage is designed to melt away stress and welcome inspiration. Light jazz is playing, incense is burning and both one-of-a-kind and world-famous art brighten the space. Simple white linen fabric lines the bedposts, an old-fashioned claw-foot bathtub with a vintage showerhead adorns the bathroom and the kitchenette is stocked with organic coffee and breakfast. This place oozes Zen and relaxation.
I can’t recommend the Belladonna enough. Find an excuse, pick a weekend and make the trek – you won’t regret it!
